Digital Math Tasks | An Engaging Way to Grow Your Students

I have had so much fun taking my Math PBL Tasks and turning them digital! I love these mini projects, and think they are the perfect fit for any distance learning situation! Let me tell you a little more about them. :)

What are PBL Tasks?

A PBL Math Task is my version of a mini-math project! Students are asked to plan a real-world situation and apply math skills to keep their business, trip, etc. running smoothly, but it is not as involved as a standard Math PBL Project! You can learn more about my Math PBLs here and Here. If you’re looking for something that can be done over the course of just one or two math blocks, then the PBL tasks are a great fit!

How Can I Access the Digital Versions?

You get the digital listing anytime you purchase a printable PBL Task or Project from my store. This extra digital file comes at no additional cost! All of my PBL Tasks are stored in Google Drive. You and your students will need access to a Google account. Google is a great way to share the projects without your students having to learn any new programs. When you purchase the tasks from my store, you will download a PDF with some answer keys, tips, and a link to download the two different versions of the task! (The ‘circle’ version of each tasks is a little more simplified, while the ‘square’ version is more complex and great for high-achieving 2nd graders!) Clicking on the link in that PDF will make a copy of the task to your own Google Drive.

Which Skills are Reviewed?

These PBL tasks review a variety of 2nd grade CCSS Math skills (although some ELA skills are also tied in here and there!) Each of the math tasks applies skills a little differently, but common themes are: money, addition and subtraction with and without regrouping, and graphing. ELA skills such as persuasive writing, brainstorming, and reflection writing are included in many tasks, as well!
