Promote Gratitude with No-Prep Activities

Hi everyone!

When is your Thanksgiving break? Do you have all of next week off, or just a couple of days? Hopefully you are taking care of yourself, and staying sane as you make your way to a (well-deserved) break!

In such a crazy year, I think it’s more important than ever to focus on what we are Thankful for. Today, I’m sharing three, absolutely no prep (other than maybe printing or assigning in Google) activities that you can use with your class to promote gratitude.

Activities to Promote Gratitude

Create a Class Book

I love making a class book, because it is so fun for students to look back on for the rest of the year! A class book that highlights what each student is thankful for is a great way to celebrate the season, but then it is also an adorable thing to pull back out at the end of the year, and reflect on how each students’ writing has grown!

Plus, if you’re distance learning, class books are easy to make digital! Even if you’re in person, you can make a class book digitally, and then simply print it out!

Create a Thankful Bunting

I love a writing activity that also serves as decor! Nothing is sweeter than having your own students’ writing hung all over the walls. Ask your students to write about what they are most thankful for this year, and create a sweet bunting banner with their responses!

Thankfulness Chain Game

A super easy, but fun game to play with your students in the days before your break is to create a Thankfulness Chain!

You can start off the game by saying something you are thankful for, “I’m thankful for my students” the next student who goes will think of something they are thankful for that starts with the last letter of your answer (since you said students, and that ends in “s,” the next student thinks of something they’re thankful for that starts with an “s”). Students keep repeating this pattern until every student in your classroom has had a chance to share.

You also could play this game by going through the entire alphabet in ABC order, or however else you can think to play!

This game is just one example of the fun, no-prep Thanksgiving activities that I have in my Thanksgiving Digital Games set! If you want to see more, click here.

I hope that these ideas fill the last couple of days of your week with more gratitude, and less stress! Click the photos of each product to see the listing in my shop!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
